Hey there, folks! Quick update below.

If you backed during the campaign, your orders will be locking down this Friday, which gives you until the end of the week to tinker with your order, purchase any add-ons or limited editions and so-on. Locking down the backer orders will give me a little bit more funding to play with as we move into our pretty-close-to-final stages here. Even when orders lock down, your address can be changed up until the books are about to get shipped out, so no worries if you're moving soon, or don't know what the future holds.

If you pre-ordered the game (or are planning to,) you've still got some time until the pre-order store closes up, and final counts are taken in, but I'm going to try to lock down orders periodically to stay on top of it.

I don't have hard dates at this point, but our progress is moving along a bit quicker than expected. My estimation (and it is only an estimation) is that the book will land in Q1 next year, instead of May-ish, which my original timeline was pointing at. This will largely depend on how the holidays go for the manufacturing companies though.

The character sheets are found there, alongside the core rules. There are pretty versions, and less-pretty-more-functional printable versions, as well.

I want to be sure not to pepper your inboxes with small version updates, so if you want to follow the development of the game more closely, you can always join the development Discord.

If you're subscribed to the Distal Monthly Digest, you'll find that in the downloads section as well. That won't be available in a link anywhere else.

With the release of the Beta, we're on track with finishing the game later this year, and getting a final, digital version in-hand, complete with all the art I could muster from the funding. Speaking of which, I left a snip of an Elven Jester in the Backer-only content section. You can find it after the jump, if you're logged into the site.

Hey there, folks. A few important announcements below!

83% of Backers Completed Their Surveys
If you're reading this, you might be one of the last 38 folks yet to complete their survey... but chances are, you already have! So, thank you! I'll be sending reminders out to the folks with incomplete surveys later this week.

Distal Digest for July
The first "paid" digest for folks that got a 12-month subscription will be landing later this month, likely a bit closer to the end. The reason for it is because July's digest will be the first one to line up with the first release of the Beta Packet, which is almost done!

Beta Packets, for Everyone! (Soon)
Originally, the beta was only going to be accessible to folks in the Development Discord... but given that the Distal Monthly Digest will be reliant on the Beta Packet content, that didn't really make sense.

So instead, everyone will find their very first Beta Packet land in their downloads section later this month. The goal of the beta is to get closer to the final book layout (without art,) and continue to provide a stable game that you can play now and build upon.



A lot has changed going into beta, and not just the layout. Loads of mechanical changes, revision, and additions make their way in at same time; all in the name of creating a more complete, cohesive experience in every step.

I'll be sure to post up again when the Beta Packet lands!

A few quick updates.
I just sent surveys to 5% of backers at each pledge level. This small sampling is referred to as a "smoke test," and is required by BackerKit so that potential questions and issues are caught before blasting them out to everyone. So if there are questions, quirks, or confusion surrounding the surveys, please let me know and I can update the flow.

Haven't received a survey? DON'T WORRY.
It's on the way. Depending on how the first run goes, I may need to make some adjustments, but it's likely that everyone will have gotten surveys by the end of next week.

Giveaway winners.
For the folks who won giveaways from past livestreams, you've been given a $60 credit used for whatever you like. This seemed like the cleanest way to handle a "version upgrade," and works out the same or better for everyone involved.

Hey there, folks. Surveys are currently under review (should be two business days) and I'll start sending them out once BackerKit gives the approval.

Why this is important.
You need to fill out the survey in order to get your items. You'll also be able to grab your digital content from the downloads section of your survey when it shows up. That includes the digital final version of the game toward the end of this year, and the Distal Monthly Digest that will land... well... monthly.

I'll go over a bit more of this in a later post.

Art in progress.
Getting the art outsourced for this project is my main focus at the moment, alongside getting the beta version of the game out in the wild, and getting all the free supplements updated...

Until then, here's an art preview of the Ulsdotter lineage. They're descendant from titans with a tall figure and stoic demeanor. It's even part of their lore! The Ulsdotter pantheon is filled with gods that they invoke to help invite and convey certain emotions.
